LIAJ decides to provide scholarship to 203 students of training institutions for certified care workers in FY 2014

The Life Insurance Association of Japan, LIAJ (Chairman: Yoshio Sato, Chairman of the Board of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company) would like to announce that the LIAJ decided to newly provide scholarships to 203 students in fiscal 2014 as the Scholarship Program for Students of Training Institutions for Certified Care Workers. As a result, the total amount of the scholarships to be paid in this fiscal year is expected to be 48.72 million yen in total.

The LIAJ launched and has run this program since fiscal 1989 with the contributions from our member companies, in order to support the students to become certified care workers who are expected to play a significant role in caring for the elderly in today's aged society.

So far, the LIAJ provided scholarships to 4,031 scholars from 1989 to 2013, and in this fiscal year, the total number of scholars will be 4,234, adding new 203 scholars.
