LIAJ selects 42 organizations to provide subsidies as "Subsidy Program for Elderly Support Organizations"

The Life Insurance Association of Japan, LIAJ (Chairman: Yoshinobu Tsutsui, President of Nippon Life Insurance Co.) would like to announce that the LIAJ decided to provide subsidies totaling 5 million yen to 42 organizations, which were selected from 262 applicant organizations from 44 prefectures, as the "Subsidy Program for Elderly Support Organizations".
This is a project to provide up to 150 thousand yen of subsidies to per private non-profit organizations and groups which engage in activities targeted for the elderly to facilitate health care and health promotion, promote independence of the elderly and help them to live a meaningful life.
As the elderly population continues to increase with the recent ageing of the population in Japan, the LIAJ would like to create an environment where the elderly can enrich their life in good health through the program.
The LIAJ plans to hold an awarding ceremony for the selected organizations at the LIAJ's local offices in various regions, which will also serve as a social event for both the LIAJ and the organizations to encourage social interaction between them.
