LIAJ selected facilities to provide subsidies as "Project to Support Working Parents with Small Children"

4 November, 2015

The Life Insurance Association of Japan, LIAJ (Chairman: Yoshinobu Tsutsui, President of Nippon Life Insurance Co.) would like to announce that the LIAJ decided to fund 21 million yen in total to subsidize 80 facilities of day nurseries/clubs for after-school activities for children under the "Project to Support Working Parents with Small Children" this year.

Through the project, the LIAJ aims to reduce the number of children on the waiting list for nursery schools to zero, which is a national challenge, by financing day nurseries/clubs which are making efforts to increase their capacity as well as to improve their service quality.

The application for the subsidy was open from May 1 to June 30, 2015, and the LIAJ received 615 applications from 41 prefectures in total. During this period, this project got a great response from various local governments and entities, and we recognized their high expectations for support on this area.

The subsidies to be provided under this project will enable 3 facilities to accept 85 children in total and 77 facilities to improve their service quality. We believe that, through the project, the LIAJ contributes to create an environment that is comfortable for working women to raise their children.

The LIAJ plans to hold ceremonies to present notices to the selected facilities in the LIAJ's local offices to promote communication between the subsidized facilities and the LIAJ .
