The LIAJ hosts a Symposium for its Recommendation on "Utilization of the Individual Number System in the Private Sector" (Promotion of Friendly Life Insurance Services for the Elderly)

18 November, 2016

In furtherance of its efforts to promote friendly life insurance services for the elderly across the industry, The Life Insurance Association of Japan, LIAJ (Chairman: Akio Negishi, President of Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company) hosts a symposium for its recommendation on "utilization of the Individual Number System in the private sector", aimed to contribute to improved customer services for the elderly.

The LIAJ has been advocating for utilization of the Individual Number System in the private sector taking opportunities such as Requests for Regulatory Reform since its publication of the report "Utilization and application of information and communication technology (ICT) through the social security and taxation number system in life insurance business" in June 2011.

The life insurance business by nature plays key social role to support people’s lives financially by appropriately providing insurance payouts and benefits. Giving particular focus on the elderly customers under the rapid aging, the life insurance industry will continue improving its services in order to provide peace of mind through fulfilling such key social role.
